Technical requirements and common issues

Updated over 4 months ago

To run sessions smoothly on Yumi42 you only need a solid standard setup. This article covers the key requirements and the most common technical issues with quick fixes.

1. Minimum technical requirements

Devices

  • Laptop or desktop is recommended

  • Tablet or smartphone works, but is less comfortable for longer sessions

  • Up-to-date operating systems (Windows, macOS, iOS, Android)

Browsers

  • Google Chrome (recommended)

  • Safari (current version)

  • Microsoft Edge (current version)

  • Firefox (current version)

Note: Use the latest browser version whenever possible.

Internet

  • Stable connection, ideally Wi-Fi or wired LAN

  • Recommended: at least 10 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload

  • If your network is unstable, coach from a location with stronger connectivity.

Audio and video

  • Working microphone and headphones/headset recommended

  • Camera with reasonable quality

  • Quiet environment and good lighting significantly improve session quality

2. Video sessions (Google Meet)

Yumi42 automatically creates a free Google Meet link for every booking.

  • You do not need your own Meet setup

  • The link is visible in the booking inside your dashboard and in the booking email

  • You can use Meet in your browser, no app required

Best practice before your first session

  • Quickly test mic and camera in Google Meet

  • Close unnecessary tabs/apps to save performance

3. Calendar sync (Google / Outlook)

Requirements

  • An active Google or Outlook account

  • You must confirm access during connection

  • Select which calendars should be checked for conflicts

What sync does

  • blocks slots automatically when you already have events

  • adds Yumi42 bookings to your calendar automatically

4. Common issues and quick fixes

Issue: Your profile is not visible

Possible reasons:

  • Stripe KYC not completed

  • profile is paused

  • you offer less than 8 hours of slots per month (auto-hide)

  • required profile fields are missing

Fix:

  • complete KYC

  • reactivate your profile

  • set availability to at least 8 hours per month

  • review required profile fields and save

Issue: Customers see wrong times / slots look shifted

Possible reasons:

  • wrong timezone in “Availability”

  • calendar events in another timezone affect conflicts

Fix:

  • check and save your timezone in Availability

  • re-check your slots afterwards

Issue: Calendar does not block conflicts / double booking possible

Possible reasons:

  • wrong calendar selected for conflict checks

  • access expired or disconnected

Fix:

  • remove and reconnect calendar

  • select the relevant calendars for conflicts

Issue: Meet link is missing or does not open

Possible reasons:

  • browser blocks pop-ups or third-party cookies

  • you opened an outdated event after rescheduling

Fix:

  • always open the Meet link from the current booking in your dashboard

  • disable pop-up blocker briefly if needed

  • update your browser

Issue: Audio or video does not work

Possible reasons:

  • browser permissions not granted

  • wrong device selected

  • headset not connected

Fix:

  • allow mic/camera access in browser settings

  • select the correct devices in Meet

  • reload Meet or restart browser

Issue: Emails do not arrive

Possible reasons:

  • spam filtering

  • incorrect email in your profile

Fix:

  • check spam folder and mark Yumi42 as safe sender

  • verify and update your email in your profile

Note: All booking details are always available in the dashboard.

Issue: Publications cannot be saved or do not appear

Possible reasons:

  • required fields missing (image, title, excerpt, content)

  • file format/size too large

Fix:

  • complete all required fields

  • reduce image size and upload again

  • wait for Yumi42’s short review after saving

5. If you need support

If an issue persists after these steps:

  • use the chat widget on the platform

  • describe what happened and send a screenshot if possible

This allows support to help faster.

In short

With a current browser, stable internet and a headset you are technically ready. Most issues relate to availability, timezones, calendar sync or browser permissions and can be solved quickly using the steps above.
