Calendar sync and timezones: use them correctly

Updated over 4 months ago

If timezone and calendar sync are set up correctly, bookings run smoothly. Here are the key rules in a compact form.

Timezones on Yumi42

  • Yumi42 uses the timezone you select under “Availability.”

  • All time slots are shown and booked in that timezone.

  • If you travel or move, update your timezone first before adding new slots.

  • Customers automatically see appointments in their own local timezone.

Calendar sync (Google or Outlook)

  • Sync checks your connected calendars for conflicts.

  • Existing events block matching slots on Yumi42 automatically.

  • New Yumi42 bookings are added to your calendar as events.

  • You can connect multiple calendars. Make sure you select the calendars that should be checked for conflicts.

Common pitfalls

  • Slots look “shifted”: almost always caused by the wrong timezone in the Availability dropdown. Update and save.

  • Double booking despite sync: usually the wrong calendar was selected for conflicts or access expired. Reconnect and select the correct calendars.
