What you can expect from coaches - and what you cannot

Updated over 3 months ago

Yumi42 connects you with independent professional coaches. Each coach works on their own account, but there are a few things you can generally expect - and some things you should not expect.

What you can expect from coaches

In most cases you can expect that a coach on Yumi42:

  • behaves professionally and respectfully in all interactions with you

  • is clear about their focus areas, methods, prices and formats (for example online only, or also in person)

  • explains what you can realistically work on together and how the process could look

  • prepares for sessions based on what you have shared and structures the time with you

  • listens carefully, asks questions, challenges you constructively and gives honest feedback

  • keeps agreed appointments or communicates in good time if something changes

  • uses Yumi42 for booking, communication and payments, so that everything stays transparent and traceable

  • treats information from sessions as confidential within the limits of the law and the platform rules

Good coaching is a collaboration. Coaches bring experience, structure and reflection, you bring your topics and willingness to work on them.

What coaches cannot offer or guarantee

At the same time, there are limits to what coaches do. You should not expect that a coach:

  • provides medical or psychotherapeutic treatment, diagnoses illnesses or recommends medication

  • replaces lawyers, tax advisors or other regulated professions

  • guarantees specific results, for example “you will definitely get this job / promotion / revenue”

  • takes decisions away from you or tells you exactly what you must do in your life or career

  • is permanently available or answers messages immediately at all times

  • works outside the agreed formats for free (for example extensive unpaid support between sessions)

  • ignores platform rules (for example around bookings, cancellations or payments)

Your own implementation and decisions remain your responsibility. Coaching is support, not a substitute for action or responsibility.

If something is unclear

If you are unsure what you can expect from a specific coach:

  • read the coach profile carefully (focus areas, working style, what is included)

  • use the free intro call (if offered) to clarify expectations and boundaries

  • ask directly what the coach can and cannot support you with

If there are serious issues (for example repeatedly missed sessions, disrespectful behaviour or clear mismatches with what was promised), you can contact Yumi42 support or use the dispute options described in separate Help Center articles.
