Code of Conduct for Coaches

Clear guidelines for professional conduct on Yumi42

Updated over 3 months ago

This code of conduct describes how we want to work together on Yumi42: clearly, professionally and responsibly. It applies to all coaches on the platform and protects above all one thing, the trust of customers in you and in Yumi42.

As a coach you are more than a service. People share personal things with you and rely on your integrity. By registering on Yumi42 you confirm that you will comply with this code, this is a prerequisite for being active on the platform and for creating a safe, high quality environment for coaching together.

Expected conduct

Professional Conduct:

As a coach at Yumi42, you act professionally, kindly, and respectfully – towards coachees, their employers or clients, other coaches, as well as Yumi42 employees.

Non-Discrimination:

You contribute to an inclusive environment in which no form of harassment or discrimination is tolerated – especially not based on gender, gender identity, origin, skin color, religion, worldview, sexual orientation, disability, or age.

Punctuality:

You appear punctually for every coaching session and are ideally prepared online at least five minutes before the start.

Appropriate Language:

You use professional, respectful language and an appropriate tone. Insulting, disparaging, sexualized, or otherwise inappropriate expressions are to be avoided.

Professional Environment:

You ensure that your coaching environment is quiet, low-disturbance, and visually appropriate (no distracting or inappropriate backgrounds, minimal background noise).

Technical Requirements:

You ensure a stable internet connection, functional hardware (camera, microphone, headset) and are familiar with the basic functions of the Yumi42 platform (e.g., appointment booking, chat, video functions).

Clear Communication:

You communicate transparently about availability, delays, rebookings, and cancellations and use the designated communication channels of Yumi42 for this purpose.

Delineation Coaching / Therapy:

You offer coaching, not medical, psychotherapeutic, or other curative treatment. You do not make diagnoses, prescribe medications, or treat emergency or crisis situations.

Well-being of Coachees:

You look out for the well-being of your coachees. In the event of recognizable mental or health crises, you point out that coaching is not sufficient and recommend seeking professional help (e.g., doctors, therapists, crisis services).

Confidentiality:

You treat information from sessions confidentially, observe the data protection regulations of Yumi42, and handle sensitive data carefully.

Use of the Platform:

You use Yumi42 for appointment booking, communication, and billing with coachees who were acquired through the platform, and adhere to the processes described in the GTC and Help Center (e.g., commissions, payouts, cancellations, dispute procedures).

Correct Representation:

You truthfully represent your qualifications, experience, and specializations and do not use protected professional titles or credentials without authorization.

Data Currency:

You keep your data stored with Yumi42 (e.g., contact data, bank details, relevant qualifications) current and inform Yumi42 about significant changes that may affect your suitability as a coach.

Unacceptable Behavior

Disregard for Boundaries:

You do not meet with coachees outside of agreed-upon settings and do not make private contact via non-agreed channels, especially not for purposes unrelated to coaching via Yumi42.

Substances:

You do not appear for sessions under the influence of alcohol, illegal substances, or other mind-altering agents and do not consume them during or directly before sessions.

Inappropriate Relationships:

You do not establish inappropriate personal or emotional relationships with coachees (e.g., romantic or sexual relationships, undue familiarity, gifts, financial dependencies).

Sexualized or Abusive Content:

You do not participate in any form of abusive, sexualized, or otherwise inappropriate behavior with or in the environment of coachees – neither verbally nor non-verbally.

Disrespect and Intimidation:

You do not smirk at, humiliate, or patronize coachees and do not make sarcastic, hurtful, or sexually suggestive comments. You do not behave intimidatingly, threateningly, or aggressively.

Violation of Confidentiality:

You do not pass on confidential information about coachees to third parties without a legal basis or consent and do not publish content (e.g., from sessions, chats, feedback) without explicit consent.

Deception and Misrepresentation:

You do not deceive regarding qualifications, methods, or the expected results of the coaching and do not make guarantees of success for which you cannot take responsibility.

Manipulation of Reviews:

You do not attempt to manipulate reviews (e.g., through pressure on coachees, counter-performance, fake profiles, or agreements).

Off-Platform Work:

You do not offer coachees who became aware of you through Yumi42 any coaching services outside of Yumi42 if this violates the GTC, and you do not encourage them to process bookings or payments circumventing the platform.
