Supporting customers outside Yumi42: what is allowed

Updated over 3 months ago

Yumi42 works because bookings and payments stay transparent on the platform. That is why there are clear off-platform rules. This article explains what is allowed and what is not when a customer found you through Yumi42.

1. Core rule

If a customer comes to you via Yumi42, the collaboration is handled through Yumi42.

This applies in particular to:

  • bookings

  • payments

  • invoicing

  • appointment management

Bypassing the platform, especially to avoid commission, is not allowed.

2. What is not allowed

The following actions are prohibited:

  • actively encouraging customers to book or pay outside Yumi42 in the future

  • using Yumi42 chat and intro calls only to acquire the customer and then continuing coaching externally

  • arranging parallel off-platform services for the same customer and the same coaching offer without billing through Yumi42

In short: if the relationship started on Yumi42, the workflow stays on Yumi42.

3. What is allowed

You may do things that support the coaching relationship without bypassing the platform, for example:

  • coordinating logistics in Yumi42 chat

  • sharing materials related to the session if both sides agree

  • linking to your public content (blog, video, podcast) when it supports the coaching context

  • working with a customer off-platform only if the customer did not come through Yumi42 or Yumi42 explicitly approves it in an individual case

If you are unsure whether something counts as bypassing, default to handling it through Yumi42.

4. What happens if rules are broken

If a coach bypasses the platform intentionally, Yumi42 may:

  • suspend and terminate the coach account immediately

  • claim the contractual penalty set out in the Coach Terms & Conditions (Section 11)

The applicable amount and calculation of the contractual penalty follow the then-current Coach Terms & Conditions. In addition, Yumi42 may assert further statutory claims, in particular for injunctive relief and damages.

5. Why this rule matters

  • Fairness: all coaches operate under the same conditions.

  • Security: payments, invoices and appointment status are clearly recorded.

  • Reliability: customers benefit from platform protection and clear processes.

In short

Customers who found you through Yumi42 must be supported through Yumi42. Bookings and payments stay on-platform. External coaching is only allowed if the customer did not come through Yumi42 or Yumi42 explicitly approves it. Bypassing leads to clear consequences.
